We took a different route between LHC and Vegas for the flight back so we could see the Hoover Dam (post coming soon!) and stopped by
Kingman, AZ, known as the heart of historic Route 66. Kingman is about an hour from Havasu and has half the population (roughly 28,000 compared to 56,000). We drove through first and then went back to check out the Harley store (for dad), some murals and monuments (for me) and 66 diner (for root beer floats). There are a couple little museums, one is in the visitor center where we checked out some old photographs and small history displays, and I grabbed a bunch of brochure information from around the state to keep for later! There are a couple old Santa Fe trains, one we climbed aboard, and train tracks run right next to 66 and the
visitor center where we watched a very long train go by, fully loaded with semi trailers.
